The SkinMesh object

If you can use a 3d modeling tool and you can export your creations to DirectX® (.x) file format, then you can make custom 3d objects for your 3D Rad projects by using the SkinMesh object.

  • Multiple sets of bone-based (skeletal) animations are supported, that is, you can store multiple animation sequences in one single DirectX® (.x) file.

  • We have made an animated character with 3 different animation sequences.

It was then exported to an .x file so I could add it to the SkinMesh object library.

In this movie, I add one instance of the SkinMesh object to an empty project, set the animation sequence to play in the property dialog for the SkinMesh and then I launch the project to render it.
